City Council Wrap-Up – October 23, 2017
Tucker’s City Council met Monday night at the City Hall Annex for a pair of public hearings, as well as a work session on multi-family housing in the City.
The first hearing dealt with amendments to the City’s Land Development Ordinance. Council voted unanimously to approve the changes which include street, sidewalk, easement and driveway standards. The effort to update and further refine this important land development tool comes amid increasing residential development and demand.
Council then held a first read and public hearing on a proposed 18-unit single-family development on Saren Court. The project, which had been deferred from the summertime, is scheduled to come up again for a public hearing and final vote at the Council meeting on November 13.
Once the regular City Council meeting was adjourned, Council held a work session to hear a presentation on multi-family housing inventory within the City. This analysis, which was conducted by planning and development specialists from Jerry Weitz & Associates, will serve as an informational tool for the City Council and City staff as they make decisions on future land use cases.
The next City Council meeting will take place on November 13 at 7 p.m. at the City Hall Annex (4228 First Avenue).
