FRIENDS OF HENDERSON PARK VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Attention all Henderson Park enthusiasts! A new kiosk will be installed. It along with one already in place will include a permanent trail map and space for community updates. For dog walkers, pet waste stations are coming.
Volunteers are needed to assist with installation of kiosks and pet waste stations. Plan to meet at Lake Erin playground at 9:30 am. We hope to finish around noon. Gloves and shoes which protect your toes need to be worn. BYOW
Volunteers are also needed to plant daffodils in honor of the 1.5 million children who died in Nazi-occupied Europe. This is part of The Daffodil Project. Their mission is to plant 1.5 million daffodils worldwide. 500 daffodils will be planted in Tucker. This initiative is sponsored by Am Yisrael Chail, a non-profit Holocaust education and awareness organization. The shape and color of the daffodils represent the yellow stars that Jews were forced to wear.
To help with the Daffodil Project in Tucker, please bring digging tools and gloves, if you have them, to Henderson Park, Livsey side. Meet across from the soccer field Saturday, November 11, 9:30 am to noon.
Whichever project you select to work on, it will be time well spent. Look forward to seeing you.
