Tucker Nature Preserve was purchased by DeKalb County in 2002 through the efforts of DeKalb County Commissioner Lou Walker at the urging of local residents. Sadly, Commissioner Walker died in an auto accident three weeks after the park’s dedication in 2004. The park was purchased from DeKalb by the City of Tucker in April 2018 following incorporation.

Tucker Nature Preserve is a 12-acre park located near the intersection of Lawrenceville Highway and Old Norcross Road, in Downtown Tucker. The park features featuring a group picnic area, a half-mile walking loop, a large grassy area for recreation and the recently added Tucker Bee Habitat. As a park visitor you can passively observe the bees and learn from the information signage or attend a beekeeping demonstration. A QR code system of markers helps guide visitors through the park.
