Team Tucker – William Kirkland

What are your responsibilities as a Building Inspector?
My first and foremost responsibility is to protect the homeowners and citizens of Tucker from any defects of buildings (residential and commercial properties).

What is your previous experience?
I have worked for years in Code Enforcement, Residential/Commercial Maintenance for a variety of municipalities and companies.

What made you want to be a Building Inspector?
Building inspections was a new challenge, and I wanted to do something different.

What is the first thing you check when you are inspecting a building?
The structure of the building, of course! That is the core of safety.

What is your favorite thing about working in Tucker?
The feel of being in a small city/town with a fast-paced environment.

Off The Wall

How many people are in your immediate family?
There are six in my family. My wife, our two adult daughters and three granddaughters.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
We love to go to Florida and visit the beaches and Disney is an annual trip, too. My kids are grown but we have grandkids, ages three and five, and we just enjoy watching them have fun and being with them. We ride ALL the rides; I even get on the kiddie ones!

What’s your favorite holiday?
I am normally the cook on the big holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving, so my favorite holiday is the 4th of July. I get to really let my hair down, hangout with the family and watch some fireworks. I still cook all the meats like ribs and chicken. And it is GOOD. Like 10/10 good.

What is your favorite season?
Fall/Winter
