City Council Wrap Up – 6.10.2024

The City of Tucker’s June 10 City Council Meeting began promptly at 7 p.m., and the Tucker Middle School Wyldlife Group came forward to lead the pledge. Mayor Frank Auman then proclaimed June 10-14 Municipal Court Clerks Week and recognized the efforts of the City’s own court clerks.

Following public comment, the Mayor and City Council recessed to executive session. They adjourned executive session and resumed the general session at 7:47 p.m. and approved the consent agenda.

Economic Development Director Jackie Moffo reported that the contract for the Economic Development Pitch Deck would be awarded to Incisive LLC. Then the Mayor and Council heard the second read and public hearing of an ordinance for a SLUP (special land use permit) for a drive-through restaurant on Briarcliff Road at Northlake Mall. The ordinance was approved 5-2.

The Mayor and Council heard the second read of an ordinance to adopt the FY25 City budget and adopted it following a unanimous vote. Finance Director Beverly Hilton followed this with the first read and public hearing of an ordinance to rollback the millage rate from 2.284 to 2.096.

The last item of business was the first read and public hearing of an ordinance considering an extension or termination of a SLUP previously approved May 9, 2022.

The Mayor and City Council adjourned the meeting at 9:28 p.m. The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 26.
