City Council Wrap Up – 9.23.2024

Council at the September 23, 2024 Meeting

September 23, 2024, (Tucker, GA) – Tucker’s Mayor and Council met for their regularly scheduled second meeting of the month last night. Generally reserved for staff presentations and used as a workshop meeting, the evenings agenda was majority business as the City was playing catch up from having just a single meeting in August.

The consent agenda was two contracts, one for stormwater repair and for replacement of doors at Tucker Recreation Center. Both were approved unanimously.

There were three staff reports with presentations on upcoming agenda items, a monthly financial statement for August and an update on the progress for the Capital Improvement Plan software and plan.

Following the staff presentations were six items swiftly approved unanimously:

  • A resolution to amend the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget
  • A contract award for the Hugh Howell Rd at Lilburn Stone Mountain Rd intersection improvements
  • Approval of a utility relocation agreement with Georgia Power along Old Norcross Rd.
  • Approval of a contract for the purchase and sale of the abandoned right-of-way off Fern Dr.
  • Contract award for CEI services for Tucker Town Green construction
  • Contract award for a governmental relations service for the City.

Council recessed to executive session and returned without further business.

PLEASE NOTE: This first meeting of the Mayor and Council in October will be held Tuesday October 15 as the City is closed on Monday due to a holiday.
