Code Enforcement

A Division of Community Development

The City of Tucker’s Code Enforcements goal is to achieve voluntary compliance with reported and discovered code violations. We believe that education is the key to reaching this goal. The main obstacle to gaining compliance is that many residents and businesses do not realize that they are violating the City of Tucker’s ordinances. For example, it is not unusual for a resident to be unaware that parking an inoperable vehicle or having outdoor storage on your private property violates the City code. And business may be unaware that having an unpermitted banner or feather flags are a violation of the City’s code. Most residents and businesses are willing to play by the rules if they are aware of them.

The City of Tucker has established property maintenance ordinances that are designed to promote neighborhood integrity, prevent property value decline, reduce blight and preserve quality of life. The purpose is to educate the residents of Tucker about the Code Enforcement process. It is intended as a general summary of Code regulations and not a substitute for the IPMC (International Property Maintenance Codes) and Tucker Code of Ordinances.
