The Engineering Department is responsible for transportation capital improvement projects utilizing SPLOST dollars. This includes new additions of sidewalks, trails and safety improvements on the roads of Tucker.
In 2017 the voters of DeKalb approved a county-wide penny tax to fund key improvements to roads, parks, public safety and transportation projects. The City of Tucker receives a percentage of SPLOST dollars based on population size. SPLOST I ended in March of 2024, but DeKalb voters approved SPOLST II in November od 2023 to continue the positive impact on our roads throughout the community.
