Team Tucker – Courtney Lankford
What are your day-to-day responsibilities?
On any given day, I perform reviews of zoning and development applications, assist citizens with inquiries regarding the use of their property, prepare special reports and studies, enforce various ordinances and codes, as well as providing staff support to elected and appointed boards and commissions.
What kind of educational background do you need to get a job in Community Development?
Community Development professionals come from a variety of backgrounds. For example, city planners typically have degrees in urban planning, environmental design, historic preservation, architecture or geography.
Why did you decide to come work in Tucker?
The excitement of helping build a new city government led me to Tucker! My hope is that we can continue building on the solid foundation that the citizens have been forming since 1892 so that Tucker can continue to flourish for the next 100 years.
What is the best part about working in Tucker?
The best part is, by far, the dedicated citizens and volunteers that are so committed to this city. I also love the small town feel that the residents fight so hard to protect.
