Downtown Development Authority
The Tucker Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is an economic development tool that focuses not only on the downtown Tucker and Main Street area, but also includes the Northlake area and the major commercial corridors.
The DDA will promote and market the downtown area and commercial corridors including but not limited to the following economic development strategies:
- Revitalize and redevelop properties
- Issue bonds to finance projects
- Marketing the City of Tucker to consumers and businesses
- Acquire and dispose of land
- Build public/private partnerships to build support for our downtown and commercial corridors.
- Work to market a positive image for the town.
- Undertake beneficial commercial, business, office, industrial or parking projects.

About the Board
QUALIFICATIONS
- Background in finance, real estate, law, construction, and development.
- According to Georgia’s State Law, a Board member must meet the following criteria;
- A taxpayer residing in the City of Tucker;
- Owners or operators of businesses located within the downtown development area and who shall be taxpayers residing in DeKalb County; or
- Persons having a combination of the qualifications specified in paragraphs (1) and (2) provided not less than four members must have or represent a party who has an economic interest in the redevelopment and revitalization of the downtown development area.

MEMBERSHIP: The Downtown Development Authority shall consist of seven (7) members. Two (2) members are appointed for a 2-year term, two (2) members are appointed for a 4-year term, and three members are appointed to a 6-year term.
MEETING INFORMATION: The Downtown Development Authority meets as needed. Meetings are held at in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 1975 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 350B. All meetings are open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend. Meeting preparation is extensive and includes the review of complex legal documents, financial reports, and development plans. Board members should commit to 7-10 hours per month, including board meetings, for participating in board and committee assignments
STAFF ADVISORS: The Economic Development Director or their designee shall serve as secretary of the Downtown Development Authority.
