Zoning Board of Appeals

The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is a quasi-judicial board that is charged with hearing requests for variances from the standards of the City of Tucker Zoning Ordinance and appeals of decisions of administrative officials.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a City of Tucker resident.
  • Desirable to have training in fields such as planning, development, architecture, law, and civil engineering.

MEMBERSHIP: The Zoning Board of Appeals shall consist of seven (7) members. Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals are appointed for 2-year terms.

MEETING INFORMATION:  The Zoning Board of Appeals meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 1975 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 350B. All meetings are open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend. Meeting preparations include site visits and the review of staff reports, application materials, and other associated documents for each case/issue. Depending on the complexity of the case and technical components associated with it, the preparation time could be considerable.         

STAFF ADVISOR: The Community Development Director or his/her designee shall serve as secretary to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
